Bee Close-ups

Today I went out and looked at the bees. They were out and about gathering water so I took some pictures of them. It was a lot easier than taking pictures of bees on flowers because unlike a bee taking nectar from a flower the bee drinking water stays in one place longer. Here are some of the pictures I took.

So, I figured today that if I'm not going to post on this blog I should either delete it or start posting. :) So I'm choosing the second option. Today Mom and I put sugar candy on the bees. I didn't get any pictures of that but I did get pictures after. The bees were really flying today as you can probably see in the pictures.

Last Friday we pulled Supers and on Sunday we extracted. Here are some pictures of extracting.We got five gallons of honey.

Today the bees were really busy bringing in pollen and nectar. I took a lot of pictures but I'll just post a few here.

The day's events

Today my bees were flying so I took some pictures of them. After that I went with D.J. to put salt and mineral out for the cows. Then we went and checked some more cows for awhile. When we came back I took some more pictures of my bees. Well, that about covers everything. Oh! Almost forgot, here's the pictures.

Got Bees?

Yesterday(The 16th) we drove to Miles City and picked up my four nucs. We brought them home but it was really windy so we didn't install them until this morning. We drove over to our neighbors place with the hives. After unloading the bee equipment and the pallet(which we set the hives on) Dad and I opened up the first nuc and transferred the frames into the hive. There weren't a whole lot of bees in the nuc but fortunately the next nuc was stronger than the first one. We finished up and drove back home to install the rest of the nucs. They were quite strong as well. I'll post some pictures of the hives when I get them.

     A long time ago(In a galaxy far, far away) I took some pictures of the calves and birds. While I was milking the cow, Mom took some pictures of our cats. Enjoy!
